Service Learning Trip

PARTICIPATION CRITERIA
 

MEXICO Service-Learning Trip Participation Criteria 

1. All applicants must be approved.  Once your application is reviewed, you will be notified if you

     are chosen to participate.
 

2. Prolotherapy physician applicants must meet BOTH of the following criteria:

● Be a physician with an active medical license (MD or DO). 

● Must have attended at least ONE prior HHPF Honduras Service-Learning Trip OR if you           have prior prolotherapy experience from other organizations, you must get a letter of          

   recommendation and permission from HHPF.

 

3.  Non-Physician volunteers: no experience required. Must be at least 14 years old.

FEES

 

Fees do NOT include airfare, travel and hotel.
HHPF covers lunch, dinner and snacks Sunday through Friday, not including alcoholic beverages.

 

Advanced Physicians $900

Non-physicians $400 

All other "specially approved" physicians' fees will be $2,000-3,000 based on experience

Fees do NOT include the optional post trip weekend excursion to relax and enjoy nature in the picturesque mountain town of Sierra de Tapalpa, one of Mexico's most beautiful and popular vacation destinations.  

TRAVEL INFORMATION 

 

The Guadalajara International Airport (GDL), also called Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla

     Airport, is your final airport destination for the service learning trip. 

You are responsible for your arranging and paying for your own transportation from the

     airport to and from the hotel.

Standard Mexico entry requirements:  All passports should be valid for six months beyond

    your exit from the country date.

Vaccinations & malaria prophylaxis:  There are no requirements to   

    enter Honduras.  We recommend that you review recommendations for travel

    here: Travel.state.gov  and that are are up-to-date on all routine vaccinations

    before you travel.

HONDURAS Service-Learning Trip Participation Criteria:

 

1. All applicants must be approved.  Once your application is reviewed, you will be notified if you

     are chosen to participate.
 

2. Prolotherapy physician applicants must meet BOTH of the following criteria:

● Be a physician with an active medical license (MD or DO). 

Must have attended an HHPF or IART Prolotherapy Conference in the past 3 years, or       

    another equivalent teaching conference.  Open to new and returning learners.

 

3.  Non-Physician volunteers: no experience required. Must be at least 14 years old.


 

FEES
 

All participants cover their own flights.

HHPF covers food, room, board, and in-country transport

Optional Private Room Fee $175 (based on availability)

 

NON-PHYSICIAN VOLUNTEER FEES

● Volunteers in Veins, Prolotherapy & ENT groups: $700

PROLOTHERAPY FEES
● New Physicians: $4000
● Returning Physicians: $3000
● Retired physicians: $1700

● Residents: $1200

● Instructors: $1000

VEINS FEES
● Returning Physicians: $1500
● New Physicians: $2500

● Optional CME fee TBD

ENT FEES
● Physicians: $1500

● Residents: $1200
 


TRAVEL INFORMATION

● You are responsible for booking your own flight to Honduras

-Prolotherapy & veins teams are picked up in Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport, San Pedro Sula (SAP)

-ENT group flies into Roatan and then flies into the La Ceiba airport.
